The non-positive circuit weight problem in parametric graphs: A solution based on dioid theory

چکیده
Let us consider a parametric weighted directed graph in which every arc (j,i) has weight of the form w((j,i))=max(Pij+λ,Iij−λ,Cij), where λ is real parameter and P, I C are arbitrary square matrices with elements R∪{−∞}. In this paper, we design an algorithm that solves Non-positive Circuit Problem (NCP) on class graphs, consists finding all values such does not contain circuits positive weight. This problem, generalizes other instances NCP previously investigated literature, applications consistency analysis discrete-event systems called P-time event graphs. The proposed based max-plus algebra formal languages, improves worst-case complexity existing approaches, achieving strongly polynomial time O(n4) (where n number nodes graph).

In this article free vibration of a Timoshenko nanobeam with variable cross-section is investigated using nonlocal elasticity theory within the scope of continuum mechanics. Small scale effects are modelled after Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity theory while the non-uniformity is presented by exponentially varying width through the beam length with constant thickness. Analytical solution is achiev...

متن کاملThe Multi-armed Bandit Problem: an Efficient Non-parametric Solution
Lai and Robbins (1985) and Lai (1987) provided efficient parametric solutions to the multi-armed bandit problem, showing that arm allocation via upper confidence bounds (UCB) achieves minimum regret. These bounds are constructed from the Kullback-Leibler information of the reward distributions, estimated from within a specified parametric family. In recent years there has been renewed interest ...
